Let Me Introduce

Myself

My name is Valentin Mitskevitch. I am a happy father of three girls and two boys and a grandpa of three girls.

As they say, stepping twice into the same river is impossible. Using this analogy, I may state that I swam in many rivers: math engineering, jeweling, luthier, construction working, custom furniture making, etc.

In the 90s, I got involved in international business, which required a lot of communication with many people. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. Besides it is way more fun to communicate messages with images. That is how I found myself swimming in the sea of photography.

For years, the human face has been the most attractive and mysterious territory for me. So it was no surprise that Portraiture became my thing. My studio, Valentography, had a slogan: This Is All About Face!

Running the portrait photography business was a lot of fun, and there were a lot of discoveries, but then, all of a sudden, clouds covered the Planet Face. The subject of my visual exploration and research interest became hidden behind the medical facemask.

Portraying people clad in COVID-19 attire is not fun, so the business quickly dried out.

The pandemic shut my studio down! What would I do with my time, skills, and all these toys they call studio equipment? But we wait! It locked doors for living subjects, for breathing customers. What about NATURE MORTE?

The second genre of photography that was positively affected by “The COVID global home arrest” was Real Estate photography.

So! these two types of photography were obvious ways to go!
